Well... this post is a little late but I couldn't go without making sure that Nate got a shout out for his big "26." Yes I'm the "cougar" that went after the younger guy, and I'm loving every minute of it haha. We didn't do a whole lot for Nate's birthday but I wanted to make sure he knew he was loved. So mom and I (mostly mom) cooked authentic Italian spaghetti sauce and garlic bread and had a great meal last monday.
Nate's not really a cake guy, just another reason he fits in with this family... so we went to Croshaw's and got a coconut creme pie, YUMMY! I felt bad though because I'm pretty sure Nate would have rather had a chocolate something or other instead :)
His mom sent a nice package with THE SHOW MLB 2009, which he HAD to have :) a few gift cards and some treats as well. My parents gave him some cash and we were able to get him a new phone that he really likes. I chipped in for the phone and I even let him use MY PHONE UPGRADE... for those of you that know me I know what you're thinking... "She really must love this guy!" ha ha yep it's true!!! I love him enough to sacrifice my technology for another 6 months til his upgrade comes due! LOL- oh the things we do for love ;)
Nate is so amazing for so many reasons and I only hope he knows how much I love and appreciate him. He is the calm to my anxious storm. We both have a hard time making up our minds about certain things but I love how relaxed he is and how he makes me realize that there are some things in life we simply don't have control over, and that's OK!

I love that he has the Priesthood.
He cooks more than I do.
I love that he helps me understand the gospel.
He is particularly proud of his Irish decent and we hope to visit Ireland someday, until then we just watch a lot of movies with Irish folk in them :)
I love that he kisses me before I leave in the morning and when I get home at night.
He gets really mad when he's losing... at anything really :)
I love that he has an open mind and we have good discussions.
He NEVER thought he'd be going back to school but realizes it's best for us.
I love that he snuggles me before we go to sleep even if he's DYING OF HEAT.
He knows just what to say to make me laugh.
I love that we can watch movies all day and not get bored.
He helps with the dishes and the laundry and the cleaning pretty regularly.
He gets irritated while driving and likes to talk to his fellow drivers :)
He LOVES the Dodgers!
Really he loves any team from LA except the Lakers.
He hates being hot and would rather live in the cold (except South Dakota)
I love that he lets me stick my feet under him because they are always cold.
I love that he doesn't expect a gourmet meal every day, or ever.
I love that he knows when something is wrong and drags it out of me.
I love that we can talk about anything and haven't really had too many arguments.
I love that he understands I'm a little OCD about a clean house, but that he has the ability to make me relax about it once in a while.
I love that I can be myself around him and not feel like the idiot that I am sometimes haha!
He's very strong.
I love that I can't stay upset for more than an hour with him.
He plays games with me and NEVER lets me win, I love that!
I love that I know that he loves me!!
I know who I am with Nate and I can be that person and he loves me. I am so grateful to have him in my life and I enjoy each day with him. Life is a blessing and as we become closer to God we are becoming closer to each other. I only hope that we can continue on this path and never stray.
